About Nigel Roberts

Resilience is a System, Not a Technical Hurdle

I am Nigel Roberts CISSP and cybersecurity advisor based in Bowie, Maryland. I founded NexSecure Solutions LLC because I saw a recurring problem. Most small businesses and founders are drowning in technical noise and expensive advice that they can’t actually maintain. I help them think clearly about risk before it becomes a crisis.

My path started officially in 2006 in the private sector. That role gave me a practical view of how technology supports real operations, not just systems on a screen. Since then, I have spent nearly twenty years across IT, security, and governance. I have seen how small technical gaps turn into massive business failures when they are ignored or misunderstood.

I care about how people and systems hold up when things go wrong. That is why I write and speak in plain English. You don’t need more fear. You need context. You need someone who can explain what matters, what can wait, and what needs to be handled now.

The Forward-Thinking View

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University. This academic foundation supports my two decades of technical mastery. I don’t believe in standing still. Staying at the leading edge of cloud security and information assurance is a non-negotiable part of my work.

Beyond the technical controls, I am dedicated to helping others achieve their goals. I mentor those trying to break into the cybersecurity field and help founders find the structure they need to stay resilient. Whether it is helping a student find their first role or helping a CEO find their footing, my motivation is to build the talent that protects the future.

Nigel Roberts Advisory is my personal hub. This is where I bring together my writing, advisory focus, and the tools I build for the industry. The work I care about is simple. I want to remove the friction of risk so you can focus on what you actually built your company to do.

The Strategy Behind the Security

You can’t defend what you can’t see. Most founders and growing teams are operating with a massive visibility gap. They know security matters, but they don’t truly know where their actual risks are hiding. My work is about removing those blind spots and replacing guesswork with a clear, actionable roadmap.

Founder of NexSecure Solutions LLC

I leverage my over 20 years of experience to help small businesses and founders move past technical noise. I bridge the gap between complex infrastructure and practical decision-making so you can lead with confidence. Based in Bowie, Maryland, I focus on building security programs that teams can actually maintain.

What Guides My Work

The most dangerous threat to your organization is the one you haven’t seen yet. The “visibility gap” is the silent threat that keeps most founders awake at night, and I am deeply driven by the work of removing that uncertainty. My motivation comes from watching a business finally move forward with confidence once they actually understand their risks. With more than 20 years in the industry, I have seen exactly how blind spots can derail a company. I am dedicated to ensuring that doesn’t happen to the teams I advise.

Clarity Before Complexity

Security advice is worthless if you cannot act on it. If a recommendation is too technical or too disconnected from your business reality, it is not finished. I strip away the jargon to provide the context you need to lead your company with confidence. My goal is to make cybersecurity practical, clear, and useful for everyone on your team.

Risk Comes First

Not every security issue has the same weight. I use my technical mastery and Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance to find the hidden cracks that automated scanners often miss. We handle the high-exposure risks first. This approach ensures your resources are spent on the vulnerabilities that actually threaten your survival.

Practical Over Perfect

Small teams do not need a massive security program that only looks good to an auditor. They need resilient systems that they can actually maintain. I focus on building stronger habits and practical controls that integrate into your daily operations without slowing you down.

The goal is progress that holds up, not paperwork that just collects dust.
